Response to a skeptic

logicon2020 commented: "You have all got to be kidding me! don't you have any shred of logic or reason? if you do your studies you will find that the book of revelations was written by a christian in exile from Rome during the reign of Nero. in Hebrew text, which the bible was first written in, there is also a numerical symbol attached to each letter in their alphabet. Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus (Nero's real name) directly translates to 666 in its numerical form. Plus Nero was the worst oppressor of Christians in the ancient times. its not a prophecy for our time, it was written to give the Christians of the ancient Roman era incentive to believe that their pain suffering would eventually end because Rome would be crushed by the hands of God. The seven headed beast represents the seven hills that surround the city of Rome, with the ten lookout stations that sat atop them. its all a giant metaphor of Roman oppression of the Christians. don't any of you study history? "

My Response to logicon200: Here's my response to you. I do have logic and I've shown tons of sources to prove that 666 is an ancient sun symbol and the Bible talks about the Mark of the Beast. You are certainly kidding. I realize that the apostle John wrote the book of Revelation. He died after the time of Nero. Nero died before 100 A.D. when the book of Revelations was finished. Nero died before the book of Revelation was finished. Therefore, he couldn't of been 666 anyway since the Antichrist Kingdom didn't reach worldwide neither did all people in that time required to take the Mark of Beast. Neither did the 2 messengers came to preacher against the Beast plus other occurences didn't happen. Nero wasn't the worse oppressor of Christians. Many Emperors oppressed Christians much worse than Nero. Persecution of Christians would be a recurring theme in the Empire for the next two centuries. Eusebius and Lactantius document the last great persecution of the Christians under Diocletian at the beginning of the 4th century at the urging of Galerius. This was the most vicious persecution of Christians in the Empire's history. The Book of Revelation is bigger than a metaphor about the Roman Empire. I do read history (about the Romans, Europe, Africa, etc. I've written dozens of pieces of prose about various issues if you've read my words), so you need to stop your deception. The 7 hills represent Rome. Many Christians believed that the coming of Jesus Christ would come early. That didn't mean that Jesus would come again at that time. Bible prophecies clearly show that Jesus Christ wouldn't come back until the Tribulation comes first. You need to learn real history, logic, and prophecy.
