So everyone who got laid off during this economic downturn was nothing but grasshoppers being lazy? Wake the fck up. The reason why people vote for social programs, is because THEY want them. If the Majority of AMERICANS didn't want them, THEN GUESS WHAT..... WE WOULDN'T HAVE THEM.

Pay attention:
Americans voted for these social programs, because, they realize that even though it sounds good to say " I hate Govment intervention", it's not sustainable.

I know good hardworking white and black people that got laid off and had to collect government assistance. You need to wake the F___ up, and stop trying to sound cute.

Question, what branch of the military did you serve in?

Do you have a brain? I'm guessing no. Are you not at all familiar with the government aid to farmers, major corporations, and other big business?

As far as the social programs, think back to when they are enacted. DURING ECONOMIC DOWN TURNS AND DEPRESSIONS, and you know why, because the public is the one that takes the biggest hit. So people make the choice to vote for social programs, instead of starving. WHITE PEOPLE.

And you forgot to address my question as to which branch of the military you have served in.

I ask, where were you when "Affirmative Action" was first implemented?

Back in the late1940s was the first time!

STEPHEN AMBROSE: Listen, that GI Bill was the best piece of legislation ever passed by the U.S. Congress, and it made modern America. The educational establishment boomed and then boomed and them boomed. The suburbs, starting with Levittown and others, were paid by GIs borrowing on their GI Bill at a very low interest rate. Thousands and thousands of small businesses were started in this country and are still there thanks to the loans from the GI Bill. It transformed our country.

It didn't matter if you never went overseas to fight, as long as you were in the military, you got the "bonus"!

"Affirmative Action" at its finest!

Affirmative Action... yes, you could call it that. The GI Bill... enabled a lot of poor kids to go to the University. In fact, however, the first Affirmative Action was Reconstruction.
