Crimea and More History

Now, we see the Crimeans vote on whether they will joining Russia or not. They voted to accept independence. Recently, John Kerry and Sergei Lavrov met in London. The U.S. so far has failed to accept U.S. demands. America and Russia are in geopolitical opposites. Washington wants its way. Kerry wants Crimea to remain part of the Ukraine. He said that Russia endorsing the right of Crimeans to secede as a backdoor annexation of Crimea. Crimeans have the right to choose their future freely. So, Kerry wants the rules of Washington enforced. Lavrov said Russia respects “the declaration of the will of the Crimean people in the coming referendum of March 16.” “We have confirmed our stance…repeatedly,” he stressed. Ukraine’s crisis is not Russia’s doing, he added. Russia on Saturday vetoed a Security Council resolution on Crimea’s referendum. UN envoy Vitaly Chirkin said that the referendum was illegal. Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatiolv said that the UN resolution was unacceptable to Moscow. Gennady can’t support the resolution. The resolution wanted to reject the results of the referendum. He also said the following information: “…We do not think that the Security Council ought to interfere in the decision by the legitimate authorities of Crimea regarding the organization of a referendum as this is not prohibited by the UN Charter or other international law…” Lavrov said that Crimea means immeasurably more to Russia than the Comoro Islands to France or the Falklands to Britain. Vladimir Putin wanted to stress the legitimacy of Crimea’s referendum. Crimea’s referendum is legal, because sovereign people have the right to choose their own future. The UN Charter provisions affirm it. The Charter has certain words: “…The organization is based on the principle of the sovereign equality of all its Members...and free people everywhere…” It promotes “friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples, and to take other appropriate measures to strengthen universal peace.” On September 18, 2014, Scottish citizens vote up or down on independence. It’s their choice. Opponents don’t claim illegality. Under provisions of the October 1970 Declaration on Principles of International Law, Crimeans may legally secede. The World Court’s July 2010 advisory opinion on Kosovo’s declaration of independence affirms their right to do so. Crimeans can opt out of Ukraine if it wants to. They can declare independence and they can vote to join Russia. Even on July 4, 1776, 13 American colonies declared independence from Britain. Resisting tyranny is an universal right against illegitimate putschists controlling the Ukraine. There has been no massive invasion of Crimea by Russia at all. Moscow’s only Crimean-based forces relate to its Black Sea Fleet. Russian/Ukrainian 1997 Friendship Treaty terms authorizes numbers up to 25,000. There are about 16,000 present in Crimea. Crimean self-defense forces are duplicitously called Russian ones. There is no evidence of election rigging in Crimea too. Crimeans rejected Kiev Putschists. The hardline neocon John McCain promotes war mongering in the region of Eastern Europe. He supports lawless aggression against nonbelligerent countries. NATO is expanding to Russian borders. McCain even called Ukrainian neo-Nazi putschists “patriots.” Ronald Reagan once called the Afghan mujahedeen fighters or today’s Taliban the moral equivalent of our founding fathers. On Saturday, illegitimate Kiev putschist legislators voted to dissolve Crimea’s lawful parliament. Effective immediately, they said. Crimeans reject their authority.

Tons of great human beings are totally right that Africa have made huge contributions to human civilization in general. Our ancestors not only created great civilizations and efficient government infrastructures for thousands of years. Our ancestors also advanced common morality, ethics, and numerous firm truths that persist even in our generation. The Black Nubians created the Meriotic alphabet as well. In ancient Aksum, we see great wealth, great trade, and elaborate castles. We see that ancient Aksum had its own written language too. Ancient Ghana was a rich and power gold kingdom. Great morality and prosperity existed in the Mali Kingdom. Songhai was an Empire that was larger than Mali with its scholarly culture including its complex government. Songhai had tons of brothers and sisters with wit, civility, and industry. Today, strong and perspicacious black human beings exist, who are helping out their communities day in and day out. We have every unquestionable right to defend our black human dignity against narrow minded, prejudiced, and ignorant folks who reject the true beauty of Africa. Bountiful gifts among black humanity are expressed on how our people today are artists, teachers, scholars, lawyers, judges, political leaders, musicians, scientists, engineers, authors, architects, business leaders, etc. Subsequently, we have to continue to advance self-determination, and a respect for our black identity. Pan Africanism is important to understand as well. We need to learn these facts. Haiti was the first black Republic in the Western Hemisphere. Haitian created a very successful revolution against French imperialists, but many Western nations harmed Haiti via trade barriers, coups, and subsidy policies that harmed the Haitian economy even in modern times. Today, some Brothers and Sisters are in many organizations fighting the neoliberal policies harming Haiti. The Maroons were heroic in fighting for liberation. They utilized guerrilla warfare strategies and excellent maneuvers to fight the oppressor. We have to fully understand our history from the actions of George Padmore to others. Malcolm X was right in saying that he have to understand history, our culture, and African political developments. In the final analysis, we are all Africans as Kwame Ture said on many occasions. Yes, there is power in calling ourselves Africans. It is our true identity and it represents our common humanity. Many Brothers and Sisters then and now are down for the cause of justice and pan-Africanism. We have to respect our black personhood (and realize the knowledge of self. That means that we should understand our being and our intrepid power). Also, we can never forget the power of the collective (or the community). Black African tradition talks about the village, the community, etc. So, we should always fight the good fight. We should condemn social nihilism when some want to call black people the N word and so forth. We should know about the work of Olaudah Equiano, who fought against the tyranny of slavery. We should learn about the pan-African efforts of Kwame Nkrumah. The daughter of Nkumah named Samia Nkrumah has increased her political power too. She is the Chairwoman of the Convention People’s Party. I have hope for the future, but nothing changes unless we fight against oppression. Our prepossessing diversity in our capacity to live our lives is characteristic of our great vitality. Our cause for black liberation is an honorable cause. So, Brothers and Sisters should keep on showing the truth.

Regardless of what some think of all of Bernice King’s views, she is 100 percent correct to advocate economic justice. I love her oratory ability. Now, she is also tom mention that African Americans are not completely free 150+ years after the end of 1865. Also, we have to have to maintain that fighting spirit that our ancestors had to fight continually institutionalized racism. We have to do more than owning and controlling the resources in our community. We have to fairly advance workers’ rights and be non-exploitative when dealing with our community. In other words, we must reject materialism. Materialism validates nothing, but it has corrupted society throughout human history. Corrupt institutions harm societies as well. So, Booker T. Washington was right that yes we as black people do need to develop skills and social/economic infrastructure as a means to grow our power base (Booker T. Washington was incorrect to ignore how selfish, individualist capitalism plays a role in harming the community. There is nothing revolutionary about getting money. It is nothing new. What is revolutionary is how to use resources, and energy collectively to end white supremacy via legitimate organization & cooperative power. We have to resist evil). We see how capitalism was behind the behind of the torture death of about 200,000 Guatemalans, the death squads in many countries, the suppression of the labor movement, and the economic exploitation of the Third World. That is why a more democratic, just society is superior to the status quo. Consumerism is a death culture since it is linked to greed and avarice that kills humanity. Yet, WE.B Du Bois and Malcolm X were right also that the whole system is based on prejudice and discrimination. Our economic empowerment and our self-determination in the future must require the transcendence of capitalism itself. We must deal with grow our solidarity and our community beyond the paradigm of the market. When work is done cooperatively, then we can see changes. Many legitimate activists agree with democratic cooperatives as a means to assist black humanity. I have no issue with this action. Therefore, we should thrive to reject the current system and formulate a new system to benefit us as a whole. We must respect cooperation for cooperation is the principle involved in creating a true civilization, of creating a community, of establishing justice, and of advancing decency. We have to be end white supremacy (and their ideals. For example, we have to view black people as Brothers and Sisters. We should never hate humanity unfairly, especially black people). Black people should be loved and never degraded at all. That is why when you have a program that uplifts the spirit of the people is greater to the status quo than guns alone. When you have a real idea, it can change the world. You have to have principles to know what you are fighting for. We see the growth of cooperative communities. We see that the war against reaction is on. There has been a spike in the activities of far right and white racist groups since Obama’s election. There is nothing wrong with social justice and a revolutionary, democratic community. Obviously, America is not post racial at all. One important ingredient of CHANGE involves the PEOPLE. You need people to engineer true change. It is the PEOPLE not Lincoln, FDR, Kennedy, Johnson, Obama, or other well-meaning liberals that by themselves that caused massive worldwide social change. I believe in self-defense and I also believe in nonviolent revolution too. Nonviolent revolution has worked wonders to end fascists regimes globally and even the authoritarian Stalinist regimes of Eastern Europe. We should use modern technology too. In a matter of seconds or minutes, we can contact a Brother from Trinidad, a Sister from Ghana, or another Sister from South Africa. We can invent new alternatives of communication to open channels of expression and revolutionary thinking (which translates into action). At the end of the day, we are fighting for an agenda of equality, freedom, and liberation.

According to NY State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, the average bonus payout for Wall Street employees grew by 15 percent in 2013. The average employee bonus hit $164,530 in 2013, the third-highest figure on record, including both cash bonuses and deferred compensation payouts for earlier years. The total cash bonus pool for Wall Street hit $26.7 billion. So, we know about the record profits that have transpired for Wall Street and Main Street is still suffering. There are economic problems and there should be solutions. When I look at this proposal, it is modest and not extremist as the reactionary classify this proposal as. When you have many workers having to work multiple jobs to survive, then we have a wage complication in America. The reactionaries erroneously believe that even a 1 percent of a tax increase on the super-rich is wrong. There should be an increase of the minimum wage, and other things. We need economic justice not the status quo. Ireland has huge household debt The Irish banking system is suffering and some want to nationalize the banks. This may occur in America, because we have debt issues in America too. History documents how immoral physical slavery and debt peonage was for the human race globally. European financiers wanted the American Civil War to make America to be ruled as a colony by them. Yet, they were not necessarily interested in maintaining physical slavery. They wanted the European plan of using capital to exploit labor by controlling the money supply while letting the laborers feed themselves. n July 1862, this ploy was revealed in a notorious document called the Hazard Circular, which was circulated by British banking interests among their American banking counterparts. It admitted that chattel slavery would be destroyed, so Europeans wanted to control labor by controlling wages (they wanted the capitalists to fund the war and reject the greenback when the international bankers could not control at all). This debt peonage is similar to the modern banking system where money is issued privately by bankers and then lent to the government rather than issued as greenbacks by the government itself. A private central bank created money by printing it or entering it as an accounting entry. Later, it lends it to the federal government in exchange for government bonds or debt. U.S. money is now created as a debt to private bankers. Banks create the principal but not the interest necessary to pay back their loans, so more money is always owed back than was put into the money supply in the first place. More loans must therefore continually be taken out to cover the interest. This has spiraled the economy into increasing levels of debt and inflation, in a futile attempt to repay principal and interest on a debt that is actually impossible to repay. This debt peonage has harmed the people and makes the corporate elite dominate their loves for food, shelter, and health care. The American system was strong. It allowed paper money to be issued by local provincial governments not only to pay their own expenses but as commercial loans. Pennsylvania back then had a publicly owned bank issuing paper notes and lent them to farmers. The money returned to the government, so it didn’t inflate the money supply. Since the government issued and spent an additional sum of money on public works, enough money was kept in the system to pay the interest on the loans and prevent the debt spiral afflicting the private banking system. The Pennsylvania system worked so well that it completely funded the provincial government without taxes or inflation. Benjamin Franklin said that the major reason on why the American Revolution occurred was because Parliament forbade the colonies form issuing their own money. By 1913, the United States had the same private central banking system that England had. Money supply now is inflated with more debt. This causes a shrinking of dollar value increasing debt peonage. The government should issue its own money instead of borrowing it from banks that issue it. If real money was used to pay for real goods and services like roads and bridges, sustainable energy development, health services, and the like, demand and supply would remain in balance and inflation would not result. A government with a properly designed and monitored system of publicly-issued money could fund itself without taxes, inflation or debt. Publicly owned banks or nationalized banks are the wave of the future. They threaten the private banking system. Public banks operating for the benefit of the public is great.

The War on Drugs is complex. What we do accurately realize that the current state of the judicial system has been decrepit. It has sent many innocent human beings to jail for extended periods of time and it has given unfair sentences especially unto black men and black women. If the judicial system was truly fair, then Eric Holder would never propose the things that he is proposing. Mandatory minimum sentences are archaic and they should be banned in my opinion. I believe that nonviolent drug users should not have any prison time. Holder’s proposal is limited in scope. Drug abuse among nonviolent human beings is an addiction issue and a medical issue. We have to advance more treatment to those who have drug addiction and who are nonviolent. Any draconian, unfair sentencing ought to be gone. Revolutionary criminal justice acts can not only reduce the number of human beings in prison, but it can improve the economy, and give human beings who paid their debts to society total human rights (with them not being able to vote or to be deprived of economic opportunities). We have a long way to go to fully address the War on Drugs and the brutality of mass incarceration. Every stone should be unturned as a means to find the total truth about how Kendrick Johnson passed away. This development is a step in the right direction, because these subpoenas can be utilized in good use. Witnesses, school authorities, etc. should be placed under oath as a means to get as much accurate, credible information possible. All of us are in unison with the family of Kendrick Johnson. There has to be more questions answered especially after the second autopsy contradicted the findings of the first autopsy. The Feds and the rest of the authorities should do their jobs. Also, school officials not just students should be subpoenaed too. We express total sympathy to the family and friends of Kendrick Johnson. In America, we see much public acceptance of almost all crimes done by our government. Some pretend to love the due process of law, but condemn to death any foreign leaders that are opposed to the U.S. propaganda establishment. We know that the same big business entities collaborate with the corporate media as a means to advance a narrative that is in favor of Western imperialist interests. Many people obsess with Putin as a means to justify the US/EU/NATO attempt to make Ukraine a puppet regime. Ironically, the coup in Ukraine came around in the time of the Sochi Winter Olympics. The neo cons want to even provoke a militarist incident with Putin in the Ukraine. The Empire is continuing. They are planting propaganda stories even in the Russian News channel called RT. Abby Martin said that he doesn’t support Putin’s intervention in the Crimea even though she doesn’t know much about the Ukraine situation. Liz Wahl resigned over her saying that she can’t support the lies from Putin. So, the real truth is that both America and Russia are not perfect at all. Both nations have huge racism, white supremacist movements, and other evils. The West is much hypocritical to deny Crimea its right of self-determination because even America was created as a result of a rebellion against the British Empire.
